Missing France

It just hits me from time to time how much I miss France. Thought I would create a photo to revive the memory of our trip last year.

Cooking

Just some cooking from last week. Using the tagine again! And I thought the colours of our organic delivery deserved a photo.

Salad using the above.

Thursday and time to remember the weekend

The Rosedale Diner

Summerhill LCBO

posh market nearby

Well it's Thursday again and still thinking about the weekend before and our nice walk around our old neighbourhood. What will we do this weekend?

Time

This is one of the images I did for the magnets I created for the art show way back in November. I just checked to make sure I hadn't already posted it. It does appear in an overall shot of all the magnets but not up close.
Paris, Musée d'Orsay

I thought it was an appropriate image for today as we did a little journey to our old neighbourhood and remembered fond times there. Really nice, sunny day too and a good meal at the old Rosedale Diner. Great day out! I do miss the convenience that the area offered. Living above a 24hr supermarket did have its advantages especially when you forgot to pick something up. And I missed the times that we just wandered the huge LCBO liquor store in the old train station at Summerhill. There were times we didn't even buy anything (rare) but just went to look at the building and the bottles and to see some people panic when the shelves start to shake when a train goes by above the store.

More lomo inspired photos on a cold day

I did these photos a couple of weekends ago but maybe more will get done today. Plans are changing, though, and there are a load of other things to do too.

Bordeaux

Zoe

It's a really cold day here after barely registering it was winter for the past couple of months. And there's even snow. While I would love to stay in all day, that's not possible. It makes me appreciate the scene of these roses all the more.

Some old camera, new camera stuff

I've been wanting to use my vintage cameras for a long time now. Only a few would work with my digital camera. Here are some examples. Of course, wee Zoe features in a lot of them.

A view of the neighbourhood from our window (of course a mirror image)

Using the other Kodak

Again, it's kind of playing with that idea of Instagram and the like but also recalling early photography. I sometimes miss the magic of the darkroom but I don't miss the chemicals. I love the dust and scratches that show up in these images and the framing.

New digital brushes

Still more photos from last weekend. Yesterday I didn't get many photos processed but I did take some. You'll see those soon. But for now, I worked with some new brushes, as well as a new texture, that I received from a magazine cd.

The photo is of a doorway in Toulouse, France taken in October last year.

Again this weekend was spent cooking and baking. You'll see photos of that as well as a trip to the market on Saturday morning.

More fun with Photoshop

I'm still on the instagram theme here. And I thought my husband would love this bike because it's a bike and it's orange.

I hope to do some more photos today and download some from the past few days including a trip down to the market yesterday morning. We'll see. There is dinner to cook.
